Whales for Wishes

A bottle share benefitting Make-A-Wish® Central and Western NC

We did it! We raised just over $25,000 for Make-A-Wish® Central and Western NC! That's enough for 4 wishes! Thank you for all your support!

Show our sponsors some love!

The 4th Annual Whales for Wishes Bottle Share will take place in The Barrel Room at Resident Culture Brewing on Sunday, April 22 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Just like last year, 100% of the proceeds raised will go to granting the wishes of children in our community through Make-A-Wish® Central and Western NC.

Our goal for 2018 is to raise $18,000.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a bottle share?

A bottle share is a gathering of individuals where each person brings beer to open and share with other attendees. If this is your first time attending, we recommend you read our bottle share etiquette guide

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online here. A ticket gets you entry to the event, along with 5 raffle tickets to place into baskets of your choice. Baskets range from rare beer, to local restaurant gift cards, and more.

Can I enter the raffle if I can't attend the event?

Absolutely! Some of our rare beer baskets are open to online entries. We announce those a few weeks before the event, and draw the winner the day of the event.

Will you ship me the beer if I win the rare beer raffle?

You bet! If you enter the rare beer raffle baskets online and can't attend the event, and we choose your number as the winner one of those baskets, we'll ship you your beer for free.

What is a "whale"?

A "whale" is a beer an individual has been looking to find and try for a long time (usually hard to find and highly rated). It pays homage to Captain Ahab's quest to hunt down the great white whale, Moby Dick.

Do I need to print my event tickets?

Nope! We'll have a list of names at the check-in table. Just bring an ID and we'll cross your name off the list when you enter. If you purchase multiple tickets, you can tell us who to let in on your behalf.

What if I don't like beer?

That's no problem! There will be a variety of non-alcoholic as well as wine available to purchase. However it's rare that even those who don't drink beer don't find something they enjoy at the share.

Will food be provided?

Yes. There will be some food available for those attending the event. However, we do recommend you start with a good base before this event kicks off. Trust us.

Where does the money go?

All proceeds go to Make-A-Wish® Central and Western NC, which helps grant wishes to children in our community. If you want to learn more about the organization, you can visit their website here

Can I get a receipt for tax purposes?
